 NATURAL PRODUCTS / ORGANICS : HERBAL CONCEPTS
THE TASK Bloomsbury Communications were appointed by Herbal Concepts to promote their range of herbal products. As the summer was approaching it was agreed that the Hay Fever & Sinus Relief product was the most appropriate product in the range to promote. The product was not new to the market so we created a topical news story to attract the attention of journalists.
ACTIVITY We took children's attendance at school as the theme for the promotion and commissioned a research company to look at the incidence of absenteeism caused by hayfever. We presented the findings to the press at a press conference at the Royal Society of Medicine. Dr John Guy, head of the Sixth Form College in Farnham, presented the education angle and Michael van Straten discussed the importance of herbal treatments.
RESULT Widespread coverage on TV, radio, national and regional press was achieved. We followed that with a series of radio interviews to consolidate the message and maintain the topicality of hayfever and herbal remedies throughout the summer season.
