BIO-HEALTH LTD
THE TASK
Bloomsbury Communications was asked by herbal medicine manufacturer, Bio-Health Ltd, to help the company to raise its corporate profile, particularly amongst natural products retailers, consumers and businesses in the company’s local area.
ACTIVITY
Protecting the environment and sustaining plant life is a key issue for Bio-Health, which procures all of its herbal ingredients from sustainable sources. The environment is also important to its customers, so the company was keen to communicate its ethical stance to this key audience.
The company has developed a sustainable business practice programme to cut down on waste and make optimum use of materials and facilities. Amongst Bio-Health’s ‘green’ activities, the company recycles over 80% of its waste. It has reduced company petrol consumption by offering staff free bicycles and paying staff £1 for every day they cycle into work. Those using cars are encouraged to car-share.
Bio-Health has recently planted a wild flower garden in the grounds of its factory to encourage insects and wildlife into the area. The company is also working with a local school by donating material for art projects that teach children about the environment.
Bloomsbury has issued ongoing press material to the company’s local media, regional business press and relevant trade publications to alert editors to the company’s continual green efforts and to promote the ‘green’ message.
RESULT
Bloomsbury has helped Bio-Health to gain positive publicity over a two-year period, helping to raise the profile of the company and build trust in the company’s brands.
